Growing Indoors – Microgreens

In Rangeview we celebrate all kinds of food, big or small. Microgreens have a very fitting name but don’t be fooled by their small size and name, these tiny greens are packed with nutrients and antioxidants.

The beauty of microgreens is that they can easily be grown indoors in small spaces and can be ready for harvesting and eating in as little as two weeks. At Rangeview, we love anything that can be grown and eaten fresh during the winter months.

These simple to grow greens are delicious and add tons of flavour to sandwiches, pasta, pizza, meat, seafood, and breakfast dishes.

Microgreens are the perfect solution for anyone who wants to try their hand at indoor, small-scale gardening. You only need a few things to get started including seeding trays, or any vessel that will hold soil and water, fine potting mix, seeds, water, and some natural light. For more information on growing microgreens, check out our step-by-step guide.

This past weekend our Rangeview HOA hosted a Microgreen Workshop where we supplied residents with their very own re-usable microgreen growing kits, soil, seed! Kelsie, our Urban Agriculture Educator, led the online workshop teaching participants how to grow their own microgreens at home and enjoy fresh, nutritious sprouts all year long.
